Mount Olive Young Adults - SPRING ACTIVITIES 2008

After-Church Lunch
Sunday, May 18
A group favorite is back by popular demand! Share some time with friends new and old during a lunch out at a nearby restaurant after Mount Olive’s 11:00 church service. Meet at the fireplace behind the Mount Olive church sanctuary at about noon, and we will decide as a group what kind of food we’re in the mood for.

City-Wide Lutheran Young Adults Barbeque
Sunday, June 1
The St. John’s Lutheran 20’s and 30’s group has invited us (and young adults from several other area Lutheran churches) to a lunchtime barbeque/picnic in Denver’s Washington Park. Come make new friends and help us increase the connections between Lutheran young adults in the area. More information and maps will be available on the table in the narthex before the event. If you have questions or want to RSVP, contact Dori Moerer (dori@moerer.net)

City Park Jazz Concert
Sunday, June 29
Come join the Young Adults at Denver’s City Park (located at 17th and Colorado) and enjoy a free evening of jazz by The Michael Friedman Jazz Quintet. Bring your own drink and a snack or dessert to share with everyone, as well as a picnic blanket for yourself. Meet at 5:45 p.m. at the top of the stairs by the “interactive water fountain” (located on the west side of the Museum of Nature and Science). We will then find a spot around the lake to enjoy the concert together. Call John Moerer on his cell phone (303-810-2317) if you will be late to find out where we’re sitting.

NEW! Young Adults Bible Study
Sunday, July 13
We are kicking off a brand new 8-session DVD Bible study this summer based on the series “Elevate: Moving from Survival to Significance.” We will talk about what the Bible says about real-life topics like making tough choices, life transitions, and dealing with disappointment. This Bible study will meet once a month. The first meeting will be Sunday evening, July 13 at 6:00 pm at Mount Olive (room to be announced). You don’t need to read anything in advance – just bring yourself! We will provide dinner during the first Bible study. After that, we will decide as a group when/where to meet for the remaining seven sessions. If you have been looking for a Bible study that is geared just for us 20 and 30-something’s, this is it!

The Mount Olive Young Adults group was organized to reach out to and connect people in our 20’s and 30’s at Mt. Olive. Feel free to come to any event, and bring a friend! E-mail Dori Moerer (dori@moerer.net) if you have any questions.
