Who Are the Young Adults?

Have you heard of the Mount Olive Young Adults group? Ever wondered what this group is all about?

Well, the Young Adults group was organized to bring together singles and couples in their 20s and 30s in order to help get them connected with others at Mount Olive.

After much discussion, the Young Adults group was finally launched in the summer of 2005 with just a handful of interested folks and a couple of ideas. Now, the Young Adults group is many members strong (and growing!), with events going on throughout the year. The Young Adults do social events (game nights, camping trips, sporting events), service events (helping at Aurora Interchurch food bank, serving the meal at Mount Olive's Wednesday evening OASIS events), and Bible studies.

The Young Adults is a fun and flexible group. New people regularly join the group for events, and members are always welcome to bring friends, too. For many members, the Young Adults group has become a great way to develop new Christian friendships. Attendance at every event is not at all necessary to be a part of this group—with everyone’s busy schedules, people come to events when they can. It’s a lot of fun!

Are you a young adult in your 20s or 30s? If so, take a look at the Young Adults bulletin board in the main hallway at Mount Olive, and be sure to check the weekly Mount Olive bulletin insert for information about upcoming Young Adults events. Or contact Pastor Mike Borgstede (mrborgs@mtoliveluth.org) for information about the group.

The Mount Olive Young Adults group was organized to reach out to and connect people in our 20’s and 30’s at Mt. Olive. Feel free to come to any event, and bring a friend! E-mail Pastor Mike Borgstede (mrborgs@mtoliveluth.org) if you have any questions.
