The bell choirs, vocal choirs, brass choir, and string/woodwind ensemble welcome your participation. Just come to rehearsal or contact one of the directors through the Church Office, 303.755.9123. Rehearsal days and times are listed below.
The Music Ministry Program at Mount Olive provides
musical opportunities for all ages and abilities.
Benefits of participarting in a church choir include:

Chapel Choir
Age: Kindergarten - 2rd Grade
Rehearsal: Wednesday 5:30

The music chosen emphasizes seasonss of the church year and Biblical stories that can be
combined with drama. Handchimes and Orff instruments are introduced. Children begin
learning musical rhythms. Participation takes place in worship services once each month.
Shekinah Choir
Age: 3rd - 7th Grades
Rehearsal: Wednesday 5:30

Director: Janet Buckingham / Shelley Stewart (vocal); Kim Montross (handbells)
All members are expected to participate in both playing handbells and singing. Rehearsal time
includes refining handbell skills, music reading skills, and vocal techniques. The choir participates in worship services 12-15 times during the year. Some ability to read music is helpful, but not required.
Carillon Ringers
Age: 8th - 7th Grades
Rehearsal: Sunday 10:30 am

Director: Kim Montross
Handbell techniques are refined through various drills and anthems. Music ranges from medium
to difficult. Ability to read music is helpful.. The choir participates in worship services twice each month.
Chancel Choir
Age: Adults and High School
Rehearsal: Wednesday 7:00
- 8:30 pm
Director: Elaine Berlinski (Interim director)
Members of this choir provide musical leadership in worship services, antiphonal singing of the
liturgy, enhancement of hymns, and anthems. Music reading is not necessary, but helpful. Chancel Choir participates in worship services about three times each month and at all festival services.
Bel Canto Choir
Age: Adults
Rehearsal: Monday 6:30 -
8:00 pm
Director: Kim Montross
Members work on refining handbell techniques and musical expression. Music ranges from easy
to difficult. Ability to read music is desirable. Bel Canto plays in worship services twice each month.
The Chamber Ensemble
Age: High School & Adults
Rehearsal: Times vary. Check with director for current rehersal schedule.
Director: Christine Krueger
This string/woodwind ensemble periodically participates in worship services and for special
occasions. Each member provides their own instrument.
Brass Choir
Age: High School and Adults
Rehearsal: Wednesday 6:15

Director: Diane Asmus
The Brass Choir is an important part of our festival worship services enhancing the hymns and
liturgy. They also play periodically at additional worship services throughout the year.
Vocal Ensemble
Age: High School and Adults
Rehearsal: Currently inactive
Director: Vacant
The SATB Vocal Ensemble sings various styles of music including traditional and contemporary.
The group is limited to 12 members, three in each section. Ability to read music is necessary. The ensemble sings for worship services once every two to three months.
