Jr. Kindergarten was begun
to meet the needs of the older 4 year old and those children who could go
to Kindergarten but parents are giving them the gift of another year to grow
and mature. We recognize that children best learn through play so our
curriculum is developmental and hands on. We are flexible. If
we see the children have another interest, we will change our curriculum
to meet those needs. Our day includes Jesus time, art, story time,
music, ABC/discovery, math, choice time, snack and outside play.
Some of our themes include:
| ABC/Discovery | Alphabet letters, bears, ocean/water (sinking & floating), night time & bats, families, winter, animals, space, healthy hearts, homes, weather, dinosaurs, insects, transportation, gardens & seeds. |
| Math | Patterns, colors & shapes, sorting, sets, weighing & measuring, classifying, 1 to 1 correspondence, rote counting, size discrimination, linear measurement, simple fractions. |
